For a Variety of Industries: Speaking and Presentation Skills
Training and Coaching
Conducted training to develop speaking and communication skills
and to make effective presentations. Worked with small groups using video
feedback and conducted individual coaching sessions. Training included
work in planning and organizing material; most effective use of voice and body;
reading and sending non-verbal cues; and designing and working with visual
aids. Conducted private executive coaching sessions. Rehearsed
presenters for special presentations and conferences. Developed a
personalized strategy for each participant to overcome individual weaknesses
and maintain credibility. Curriculum included advanced courses to develop
specialized skills, e.g. fielding difficult questions, making complex
demonstrations, persuading and selling.
Prepared specialized sales and technical teams as these teams
pursued significant new business opportunities. Worked with teams on
organizing and developing their presentations, and coached presenters preparing
for highly competitive selection interviews.
For Telecommunication Firms: Customer Interaction Training
Developed and conducted training in customer interaction skills
tailored to the organization and customer climate. Conducted on-site
interviews and research to develop course content and materials. Course
focused on developing strategies for dealing effectively with customers in
challenging technical and interpersonal situations, and emphasized building
communication and consulting skills. Also developed and conducted
separate advanced courses on telephone customer assistance and interacting with
customers in person. Prepared specialized sales and technical teams as
these teams pursued significant new buiness opportunities.
For a
Manufacturing and Services Firms: Facilitator Training
Designed and conducted training for the company’s quality circle facilitators. Developed cases and exercises for applying facilitating skills to group problem solving. Trained company’s quality circle leaders in leadership skills, group dynamics, communication techniques, and circle facilitation.
For
Federal Agencies: Teambuilding and Management Development
Conducted an organization analysis and developed a region-wide teambuilding and management development program for field office management teams. Sessions focused on issues of communication, performance management, and conflict management. Prepared program documentation and all materials for nationwide application. Trained in-house consultants in facilitating and instructing skills.
For a Health Care Facility, a Restaurant Group, a Food Services
Enterprise, and a Property Management Company: Organization Analysis
Conducted an analysis of functions and jobs of the organization;
worked with organization’s Board of Directors to establish policies and
redesign functions where necessary. Developed salary and wage
administration system, performance review system, and management
development plan. Developed policies and guidance for maintenance.
Conducted training for managers. Analyzed top management structure and
advised Board as to most effective functional structure.
For a
State University: Program Evaluation and Team Building
Evaluated
the campus human resources program in terms of its responsiveness to campus
needs. Conducted a needs assessment and developed an action plan strategy
for increasing the program’s effectiveness; strategy included team building
sessions.
